Wow! By far one of the best Barber Shop experience I have had in the DMV. Kinda reminds me of my Dominican God mother's Hair Salon in New York. This place us very clean and Neat. The Vibes say family, the music is off the hook, the Barbers in uniform and very professional! All of them seem happy! One even Did a short Salsa dance after he was done with his work 💃🏾🕺🏽. I was smiling from the minute I walked in to the time my Son was finished with his Haircut. My Son was satisfied. I definitely recommend this place.

DO NOT GO TO THIS BARBERSHOP! Seriously, this place is very disorganized and unprofessional. The workers are constantly distracted with their Spanish music and don't pay attention to the patrons hair. First off, the biggest issue was the fact I was assigned to a barber who didn't speak English. This forced him to ask another barber who did speak English to translate what I said. I told the English speaking one that I wanted a LIGHT trim of my afro, no more than half an inch and he translated for my barber. Somehow the translation was miscommunicated because instead of trimming my hair slightly this dude SHAVED off a solid 2-3 inches of my hair, possibly even more. And no wonder he did that because he was singing and dancing while cutting my hair and conversing with other barbers, not even looking at my head. The end result was so horrendous that I honestly wanted to explode right then and there, but held my composure and paid, but this is the last time I'll ever put a dime in this establishment again. You have to be uniquely lackadaisical and negligent to hear lucid instructions given by a customer and still mess up, which pertains to all aspects of customer service, not just hair. Please do no come to Star Hair Design. These people will mess up your hair.

DON'T DO IT! I went there and instantly thought wow not diverse but I will keep an open mind flare of Latino music and only Hispanic males. No problem I came in with a photo and showed it to the young attractive Latino male who's smile turned into a frown as he began to not cut but scalp my hair left no sides totally scalped it accidentally supposedly nicked my ear but apologized with no emotion.He didn't bother to pick out my hair before he cut it like has been done at any other barber shop I have been to whether male or female barber. Why the big deal? Prior to making the appointment I asked to verify if they specifically did African American hair type. The answer should have been NO. The cut was nothing like the picture and he didn't try. Now I mentioned the time and consideration taken for a fellow Latino I waited at least 20 minutes no problem. My cut took 5 minutes. It was a cold experience with no refinement. He was literally pulling at my hair at the scalp because he cut it so fast. A person would take more compassion cutting a pets hair. HONESTLY. Being the decent person I am I smiled got up paid and tipped thanked them and walked out with a smile. Why? Cause I will never let the devil win. But I write this with total disappointment of the coldness and unprofessional job of scalping I will have to cover up for the next four weeks. I will not go back and this is a warning. By the way I am a African American female. Beware.

This is my go to barbershop!!! The owner is a master barber and I usually go to him, but everyone in the shop is skilled. Last haircut Tyson cut my hair. He was super sweet, and gave me a massage. Yes, if you're wondering I'm female. I never see women at the shop except for ladies doing hair and nail tech, but I want to encourage you try them out. I dont think you'll be disappointed. Precise barbering, clean and friendly atmosphere, professional atmosphere, great cut, Good Vibes! Thanks Tyson!!!

This experience was terrible. My barber gave me the complete opposite of what I asked for. Then come to find out he didn’t speak English, so he kept going to the other barbers to make he was doing it right directly in front of me. He messed up my haircut so much so that another came over to finish up what he started. I’m a young black man and and I am very particular about who cuts my hair.I thought they would do a good job, I was very wrong about that. Everyone knew in the barbershop I was really upset when I got out that chair so much so my barber apologized to me 🤦🏽‍♂️ Please don’t go here

Ive been here several times years ago, during the pandemic I cut my hair. While shopping in the area over the weekend I remembered the shop was always welcoming, professional and clean. Edwin - owner, and Master Barber was able to take as a walk-in although he had has continuous customers. Divine alignment allowed me to get in today. He gave me the exact hair cut I wanted. I felt so comfortable in his chair which is not easy for me. Its nothing like a great hair cut, at a reasonable price without a long wait. Thankful, STAR.survived COVID-19 and is still available to service customers. This is one version but doesn't do the cut full justice. Ill add another picture after relaxer and hair color. I am changing my 5 star review for a reason. I went here last year so that my son could get a shape-up and wash. I kept asking them the price and they act like they didn’t understand me. I have a son so it’s not like he was getting a blowout for them to charge me almost $100 for everything. I sent the owner a message and he promised to get back with me but never did. I had nothing but respect for them but don’t get over on people. When I saw my son’s hair it was as if she thought he was a girl. It was in a mushroom style. I made her pull it back in a ponytail. I paid and never went back. I live by the principle so if Edward was to come to me and apologize I would definitely go back because I love how Miguel does my son’s shape-up. I don’t see that happening so God Bless
